Well my pledge to get control of my weekends lasted the grand total of one week! 🙈🙈
My husband and I had date night booked in on Saturday and we haven’t been out together for ages. The morning started well as I had egg on toast all pointed.
After work at lunchtime I went to collect my daughter from my mums and as she was happily playing I seized the chance to get some admin work done. I was hungry so made a quick cheese sandwich (I opted for warbies small wholemeal loaf over the thick white toastie one although it was full fat cheese) I ‘guesstimated’ 4 SP for the cheese and 1sp for a smudge of mayo plus 3 for the bread. I then decided that I might as well have a day off-no harm in that is there? After eating a handful of M&Ms I decided that having a full day off wasn’t the best idea and pushed that though to one side-but the damage had already been done…that little voice of saying ‘go on its fine, don’t worry about it today’. At home I was helping a friend with a presentation and as I was tapping away on the laptop I ate 4 sugar free biscuits which I have never done. On the plus side I did point them-6sp but it shows how easy it is to mindlessly put things in your mouth when you’re busy!
I had chosen a Turkish restaurant over my usual Italian favourite as I didn’t want a pasta or pizza temptation. We split a cheese garlic ciabatta and hummus for starters and I ordered salmon for my main. It was pan fried (not great) and was cooked in cream and wine (oops) and served with an oyster tomato sauce (that but was ok). I was full quite quickly though and only ate half of it. The waiter even commented when he came to take our plates as he thought I didn’t like it.
The food was the least of my worries though. I had drank a whole bottle of wine (plus a glass!) with our food-we were in there a while honest! We then moved onto a couple more bars where I switched to vodka as I was too ‘wined’ out. I also thought it would be a good idea to have a sambucca-my husband did protest at this but I carried on regardless!
Sunday morning dawned along with a huge hangover. My planned gym session went out of the window and I won’t go into too much detail but I didn’t eat until nearly 6pm as I couldn’t even keep water down 🙊🙊🙊. I managed a crumpet at 5.45pm
I had no intention of cooking so ended up ordering a takeaway pizza. The Angel did actually pop up a few times to remind me that I had the ingredients in to make a low Smart Point pizza and my husband had a frozen one in the freezer but no the hangover was in control and we had a takeaway. I only ordered a 7in though so I didn’t go too crazy but its still alot of points
So now I have the week to pull it back. I’m aiming on low Smart Point meals and gym sessions to undo the damage. So far I have no plans for next weekend-although there’s a big chance England will be playing in the last 16 of Euro ’16 on Saturday…….
