It’s Christmas!! You can’t bloody miss it. I love Christmas, the carols, the lights the delight and wonder of Father Christmas but I feel like Noddy Holder is popping up everywhere I go shouting ‘It’s Christmas have some chocolate!’ It’s EVERYWHERE!
A simple trip to the supermarket becomes a mind game of strength and willpower as you meet a taster stand of mince pies or huge boxes of chocolates/biscuits/cheese hits you at every turn.
And what’s going on with litre bottles of wine and prosecco popping up?
I went to the hairdressers and there was a box of celebrations open that was being passed around. I couldn’t decide which one I wanted so she told me to have 2 and I did! 2 days later I was back there with my daughter (who isn’t a huge chocolate fan) so chose one decided she didn’t like it and passed it to me-this happened 3 times! Plus I had taken another 2 myself 🙈🙈
I genuinely don’t know how I would get on if I worked in a set place with goodies being brought in every day.
I’ve had a few slips this week and I’m clinging onto that Weight Watchers life raft for dear life! I really don’t want a gain this week and part of me is glad that my weigh in day is Friday as it means I’m more in control. I think if I had been weighed earlier in the week I would have started going right off the plan by now but my god it feels like the longest week of my life!
It was my daughters birthday on a Sunday and we went on the East Lancs Santa Express where the adults get free mince pie and sherry. There is a picture of my sister and I grimacing drinking it but it didn’t stop us drinking it! Why? Coz it’s Christmas? Because it was free? Who knows!
I also had a walnut whip on Sunday. My husband won a hamper FULL of biscuits, chocolates etc and we have given some away but I insisted on keeping the walnut whips, shortbread biscuits and Viennese fingers because I want them! Although not yet because as I keep telling myself ‘it’s not Christmas yet!’
We did our Christmas shop on Monday night and I was pretty pleased that I didn’t get loads of crap. Although I did get a bottle of Baileys…
Having said that every year after the ‘Christmas shop’ I open the Baileys and have a glass with milk (whole milk not skimmed rubbish) but this year I didn’t and the bottle still remains unopened.
I went to Bury market to get my Christmas cheese on Wednesday and I really cut back on what I normally get. To put it in perspective I usually spend around £30 there but this year I spent £12 so I’m proud of myself for that.
I’ve still being doing the 28 day plank challenge and did a 3 minute plank this morning 💪🏻💪🏻
That is the only exercise I’ve managed though do my plan to rack up the fit points hasn’t worked.
I don’t know if I’ve done enough to get a loss in the morning as I’ve had wine and cheese and a fair few chocolates but I do know that I’ve been far more focussed than I’ve ever been at this time of the year and that itself is a success.
Have a wonderful Merry Christmas and I’ll confess my Christmas sins next week….
